THE JASONS are a ramonescore punk rock band from Crystal Lake, New Jersey. Founded in 2013, and releasing music since 2015, they've quickly been making a name for themselves in the scene. They've toured with bands such as: The Queers, The Dickies, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Dwarves, and many other cool as fuck bands that are willing to have their stage presence outshined by the four mongoloids.
I started listening to The Jasons in 2015 when
this video was in my youtube recommendations and I (thankfully!!) clicked on it. I immediately downloaded it onto my MP3 player and was hooked ever since. Their music definitely found me at the right time in my life. I was constantly looking for the most unique and obscure music to listen to (which is something I still do lol) and was in my first (of many) punk phases.
Seeing this band grow and change both quality wise and thematically in real time has been amazing. The Jasons have been an endless source of inspiration and joy for me for almost half of my life so far. But despite being a fan since they released their first album, the first time I saw them live was Dec 9, 2023. (And then again Dec 30, 2023 lolol) It's easily one of the best concerts I've been to.

The band's first album... and it shows! Not for a bad reason, they're just really into the whole
Friday the 13th themeing here. Which they do eventually try and distance themselves from. The album is only 8 tracks long and clocks in at a little under 17 minutes. Go sit down and listen to this shit because it's amazing and fun. The cover is a parody of
End of the Century by the Ramones, which is one of their biggest sources of inspiration as you can tell by all the downpicking. This is the only album were the band was a three piece, and that features Jason X on the drums.

STALK AND SLASH SUMMER (2015)

Literally the best summer time album, everything feels like a warm day with friends. First album as a four piece band AND the first one with Hell on drums and Jason R on lead guitar! The added guitar makes a huge difference and elevates the sound to a whole new level. Also, much like the last album this one was *also* recorded in a day. The album cover for this one is a parody of
Rock And Roll Over by KISS, drawn by the bands bassists - 3D!

The album that really launched their career, this one lasts 15 tracks and is about half an hour long. The personnel remains the same as the last album. One song on this album,
I Can't Stop Killing, was featured in the game
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle. However, the track
I Wanna Be An Asshole remains their most popular and would later be rerecorded for future albums, including their split with The Queers. If you're only going to listen to one album by The Jasons, it should be this one. This is when they started to branch out from the
Friday the 13th theme lyrically, but it still has that charm to it.

In 2014 The Jasons played at a Misfits tribute show. Part of the set was recorded and
put on their youtube channel. As they say in the video, they didn't practice the instrumentals so they make the decision to play Ramones instrumentals and have Jason V sing Misfits' lyrics over that. And it works out great! A bit too much - Jerry Only('s lawyer) ends up sending them a cease and desist for the cover art. After the original run of CDs and LPs they couldn't make anymore and they had to pull it from streaming. (Although it was put back up as of April 5 2024!) If you check their
bandcamp you can still buy the album digitally since I guess the music is protected under parody.
